I often must laugh at fox news (if you can call it that)
Frostburg needs to cite any student housing with code violations and keep citing them for any and everything but Frostburg doesn't want to do anything but b!@#%. I go back to the city murder (by frostburg) of the two students burned to death shortly after the city inspected the house.
Take the excess FSU "officers" and pay for them to patrol for trash, code and other violations. Have FSU inspect every off campus student housing...That I can see it is worth paying for.
If you are going to have FSU "officers" patrol off campus put them on foot and let them get to know the neighborhood.

well snapper I guess that we have a different slant on FSU and its bloated police force and the fact that the money spent on it could be put to a better use.
Answer me one question ; Why would FSU have a bigger police force than the city of Frostburg? Does that make any sense to you?

Rob, I am not sure that I find the local talent much worse than other places I have lived. The truth as I see it is that since 9/11 cops have forgotten the whole "Protect and Serve" and started thinking that they are all swat cops. I think that they need to be reminded that they serve the citizens, put them back into uniforms with a tie, hold them to a higher standard because that is what police should be held to.
The rent-a-cops at FSU act like little Hitlers but that comes from the woman who is leading them who I go out of my way not to have any dealings with. Her dept. answers 20 calls per week and she wants a new $10,000,000.00 police building meanwhile adjuncts make $2000.00 a class and there are numerous open facility positions that can't be filled due to lack of funds

because the FSU rent-a-cops are just rejects from real police jobs and you have to sink pretty low to be worse than the other cops in our lovely county

I feel that the college is wasting money on a bloated police force of 17 officers. Cut that number in half and give the saved money to Frostburg...that's fine but trust me you do not want these rent-a-cops with guns on your streets. Many of these officers are working for FSU because they are just too stupid to work for a real police force.

The Frostburg police are paid to "protect and serve" Frostburg not the college so, and I say this again let Frostburg handle its own problems. Off campus students are not the problem of the school.
