Blast testing
« on: January 11, 2012, 11:43:25 AM »
You may have felt or heard the booms this morning.  In the area of Klondike, the FBI was conducting some blast tests.  Don't know much more than that.

Felt and heard it in Cresaptown. It must have been a heck of a blast. I read on facebook that it was a house they blew up.

Here's the story on it from the Times-News: http://times-news.com/latest_news/x2145131839/County-residents-feel-blast-from-FBI-test. It seems they've discontinued the testing.

Why is the FBI testing in Allegany County and not on a military base?

We felt it here in Frostburg.  A large one around 10:45 and then a smaller one afterwards.

Maybe they were testing some new "bunker busters" that their planning on giving to Israel so they can take care of business with Iran  ;D.

On a more serious note, I have family that live near Quantico and several weeks ago she reported loud explosions that actually cracked the drywall in their home and several others.  Maybe people complained so they moved the tests up here?

The FBI was disposing of explosive devices that were confiscated.  At the same time, they wanted to record the type of damage and power they had.

They should have done that in DC instead of Allegany County,  ;)

These blasts supposedly broke windows in several homes.  At first they blamed it on the coal mine but later found out it was the FBI.  They should have taken these bombs, or whatever they were out west to say Montana or somewhere

midlife is right and you would think they would have a proving ground already established for that type of testing. i heard they found Hoffa's body and had to blow him up to keep the mystery alive.

if windows broke wouldn't they be responsible for that?
it always comes down to being able to PROVE IT.
